Willow House at The Meadows helps women overcome trauma through a series of experiential therapies that bring forth their inner struggles so that they can move through their barriers. In addition to talking about their struggles, patients are encouraged to role-play in order to visually see what’s going on internally.
We are proud of our reputation as experts in using breakthrough techniques to help patients find peace. We are also proud of our incorporation of ancient healing methods from around the world.
Innovative Treatment for Women
Our experiential therapies include:
Equine Therapy: Willow House at The Meadows is one of the few treatment centers in Arizona that uses Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) to lead patients to healing and recovery.
Expressive Arts Therapy: Embedding art and self-expression into therapy has many important advantages for patients, as it gives patients the ability to share perceptions they can’t normally share in other therapy methods.
Mindfulness Meditation: The ancient practice of meditating involves being in the present moment with non-judgmental acceptance.
Tai Chi and Yoga: These practices help reduce stress and focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit.
Psychodrama: Spontaneous dramatization, role-playing, and dramatic self-presentation help our clients gain insight into their lives.
Music Therapy: Creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music can help clients gain skills, insights, and communicate feelings that may be hard for them to express in words.
Spiritual counseling: Our Spirituality Counseling is a therapeutic process that focuses on spiritual issues and the necessity of rediscovering a lost spiritual connection.
Acupuncture: This ancient Chinese medicinal technique eases pain, alleviates stress, and promotes wellness.
Dance/Movement Therapy: DMT helps promote self-awareness and self-esteem; it also helps clients achieve cognitive, emotional, and spiritual integration.
Rope Challenge Course: Challenge Course activities help our clients gain skills in problem-solving, trust, planning, facing fear, cooperation, understanding self, and self-esteem.
Innovative Therapies the Work
Willow House at the Meadows utilizes start-of-the-art and innovative therapies, alongside other proven methods to help our patients achieve long-lasting recovery. In a safe and nurturing community composed of their peers, women are guided on their journey of recovery by examining the underlying causes of addiction and co-occurring disorders. The goal is for these individuals to gain the courage to face difficult issues, including grief and loss; heal from emotional trauma; and become accountable for their own feelings, behaviors, and recovery.
