The annual conference is organized by Littler Mendelson P.C., the largest U.S.-based law firm exclusively devoted to representing management in employment, employee benefit, executive compensation, and labor law matters. The conference was attended by 1000 industry professionals, including in-house counsel, senior human resources executives and employee relations professionals. Sessions focused on how to minimize and avoid risk, and how to implement strategic, practical solutions that will enhance the workplace and strengthen their workforce.
Dr. Carnes participated in a half-day session titled, “Sexual Harassment 2.0: Considering New Workplace Solutions for an Old Problem.” The goal of the sessions was to mine down into the issues pertaining to harassment in the workplace and help make sense of the chaos surrounding the topic and gain a new perspective as to how to navigate this problem in light of recent events.
Dr. Carnes presented “Sexual Harassment: Is this really an addiction or an excuse for bad behavior?” She provided her insight based on her extensive professional experience and expertise in dealing with sexual addiction issues that surface in the observed and reported conduct of what the EEOC refers to as “The Super Star Harasser.” Dr. Carnes also participated in a panel discussion on the “me too” movement and how it affects the workplace going forward.
