Clinical Architect of Willow House, Meadows Senior Fellow
Dr. Stefanie Carnes is the president of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), a training institute and professional organization for addiction professionals. As a Meadows Senior Fellow, she works with individuals and families impacted by sexual addiction and is the clinical architect of Willow House, a specialized treatment program for women struggling with sex, love, and intimacy disorders.
A licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFT-approved supervisor, Dr. Carnes specializes in treating individuals and families facing multiple addictions, including sexual addiction, eating disorders, and chemical dependency. She is also a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT) and supervisor, with extensive experience working with couples and families navigating the challenges of sexual addiction.
Dr. Carnes presents regularly at both state and national conferences. She is also the author of several publications, including Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts, Facing Heartbreak: Steps to Recovery for Partners of Sex Addicts, and Facing Addiction: Starting Recovery from Alcohol and Drugs. Her latest book, Courageous Love: A Couples Guide to Conquering Betrayal, released in 2020.
