PEER INTERACTION AND SUPPORT PROVIDES VALUABLE INSIGHT
Group sessions are an integral component of Willow House at The Meadows’ treatment program. When one patient in a group shares her experiences, everyone in the group gains by realizing how those topics and themes relate to their own lives. Feeling connected to a group of peers alleviates a lot of shame. With a bed capacity of 10, the groups at Willow House are small and intimate, allowing the patients to practice the skills they are learning, to build trust with each other and the staff, and to share on a deeper level.

In a safe and nurturing community composed of their peers, women are guided on their journey of recovery by examining the underlying causes of addiction and co-occurring disorders. The goal is for these individuals to gain the courage to face difficult issues, including grief and loss; heal from emotional trauma; and become accountable for their own feelings, behaviors, and recovery.
